Midland County added 122 COVID-19 cases from Aug. 10-16, according to the State of Michigan's website on Tuesday. 

Midland County added 122 cases from Aug. 10-16. Overall, Midland County has 19,349 cases, 1,844 probable cases, 214 deaths and 21 probable deaths.

Bay County added 175 cases and one death. Overall, Bay County has 26,457 cases, 2,995 probable cases, 575 deaths and 33 probable deaths.

Gladwin County added 44 cases. Overall, Gladwin County has 5,182 cases, 896 probable cases, 115 deaths and seven probable deaths.

Isabella County added 86 cases. Overall, Isabella County has 14,216 cases, 2,583 probable cases, 200 deaths and 22 probable deaths.

Saginaw County added 404 cases and two deaths. Overall, Saginaw County has 50,520 cases, 4,598 probable cases, 922 deaths and 53 probable deaths.

Overall, Michigan is at 2,7031,787 confirmed and probable cases and 37,774 confirmed and probable deaths.

As of July 26, MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland was listed as having a 77% bed occupancy with 13 COVID patients and none in the ICU. MyMichigan Medical Center in Gladwin was listed as having a 47% bed occupancy with two COVID patient and none in the ICU.

Both medical centers reported having 7-14 days' worth of surgical masks and at least 15-30 days' worth of other personal protection equipment (N95 masks, gowns, gloves and eye protection) on hand.

According to the Midland County Health Department website, 18,989 Midland County individuals have recovered from COVID. This data was last updated on Aug. 1.

Midland County’s seven-day rolling test positivity rate between Aug. 5-11 was listed at 18%, and Gladwin County’s was listed at 18.4%. Midland County and Gladwin County both have high community transmission.

Our 12-county region was listed at 21.1% and Michigan was at 21.5%.

Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available at clinics administered by the health department at the Midland County Services Building, 220 W. Ellsworth St., Midland. The health department will vaccinate anyone who needs a first or second dose; those who need their second dose must bring their vaccination card.

Following FDA approval, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) is urging all eligible Michiganders to get a Johnson & Johnson, Moderna or Pfizer booster vaccine if they have received their primary COVID-19 vaccines.

Following CDC approval, MDHHS is urging all eligible Michiganders aged 12 and up to get the Pfizer booster vaccine if they have received their two primary COVID-19 vaccines. Pfizer is the only authorized vaccine for under age 18. The Midland County Department of Public Health has vaccine booster shots available for children ages 5-11.

Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose. Some people may prefer the vaccine type they originally received and others may prefer to get a different type of booster vaccine. CDC’s recommendations now allow for this type of mix and match dosing for booster shots. Consult your healthcare provider if there is a question which vaccine is appropriate for you.

Michiganders should bring their COVID-19 vaccine card or immunization record with them when getting their booster dose, which is available at any vaccine provider. Downloadable immunization records are accessible free at the Michigan Immunization Portal. To obtain their record, Michiganders must create a MILogin account at Michigan.gov/MiImmsportal and upload a valid government issued photo ID such as a driver's license, state ID or passport. If you do not have records in the portal, contact your healthcare provider or local health department.
