Dallas Cowboys fans have been salivating over the team bringing back their throwback uniforms. That patience was worth it as it was announced in July that the Cowboys would wear their classic uniforms with the white helmet and a royal blue star which the team wore from 1960 through 1964.

Dallas will sport this look on Thanksgiving against their NFC East rival the New York Giants, making the first time they have rocked this combination since 2012. However, the Cowboys aren’t stopping there.

On Friday, it was announced that the Cowboys will wear another alternate helmet, an all-white version with their current star logo as opposed to the royal blue star on their throwback helmets. They will wear this helmet during their Week 17 battle against the Tennessee Titans.

This “Artic Cowboys” look is a part of the team’s color rush uniforms that feature all-white pants. Also, this new helmet will have an all-white facemask, making it the first the Cowboys will have any color other than gray on the cage.

The unveiling of this alternate helmet was done last month as well, but the excitement of having the throwback uniforms resurface overtook it.

The NFL announced last summer that its one helmet rule would be eliminated after the 2021 season, allowing teams to add a second helmet. Dallas was slick in their strategy by taking their all-white face mask and mixing it with the shell color helmet and current star logo, giving them three different looks for the 2022 season.

Kudos to the Cowboys’ equipment team for this one.
