Ljubljana, November 6 (Xinhua News Agency)-The Slovenian government stated on its website on Saturday that Slovenia will increase restrictions on Monday to contain the COVID-19 pandemic as the situation deteriorates.

Starting from Monday, anyone except those in the same family will be temporarily prohibited from gathering. People will no longer be allowed to use ordinary textile masks in all indoor public places, but use surgical masks or FFP2 masks.

In order to enter most public institutions, people must show personal identification and vaccination certificates, negative tests, or proof that they have recovered from COVID-19.

Starting from November 15th, all students must be tested 3 times a week in schools and universities, and all public institutions will be obliged to work from home as much as possible.

The country recorded the highest single-day COVID-19 case for the second consecutive day on Wednesday, with 4,511 new cases.

Health Minister Janez Poklukar urged all unvaccinated citizens to get vaccinated as soon as possible. So far, only about 53.3% of Slovenia’s 2.1 million people have been vaccinated. Finished product
