A government spokesperson warned on Monday that many foreign tourists did not wear masks and gathered in groups, which violated the Covid-19 disease control regulations and will be prosecuted if they do not comply with the regulations.

Covid-19 Situation Management Center spokesperson Apisamai Srirangson said that tourists from many countries came to the sandbox provinces to participate in business meetings.

Dr. Apisamai said that the provincial representative told CCSA that these visitors not only did not wear a mask at the meeting, but also did not wear a mask to attend the party, which led to the spread of Covid-19.

She did not explain these transmissions.

She said the hotel staff warned them that they must abide by the rules.

Dr. Apisamai said that the Infectious Diseases Act requires people to wear masks in public places and gatherings. She said that repeated violations can be fined up to 20,000 baht.

"Visitors must comply or they will be prosecuted," Dr. Apisamai said.

Singapore has increased the number of travel routes for fully vaccinated people, opening the door to isolation-free travel to some of the city-state’s most popular resorts.

CCSA stated that the curfew will be lifted on December 1, antigen testing will replace RT-PCR on December 16, and Nong Khai will be allowed entry on December 24, but night entertainment venues will remain closed.
