The dramatic increase in COVID cases-largely due to the highly contagious delta variant-has prompted the return of masks in many places.
The Centers for Disease Control recommends that people wear face masks made of tightly woven layers of breathable fabric and nose line. When facing a bright light source, the mask should block the light.
It is not recommended to use single-layer fabric masks or masks with exhalation valves or vents.
Some people went a step further and chose N95 masks. N95 mask is a respirator that can filter out at least 95% of the particulate matter in the air. The masks fit snugly, so they limit the amount of air that can enter the edges, and they not only block droplets. You can find more information about N95 masks from the CDC here.
